Short Threads from the Needle’s Eye… September 2018

September already?! This is the start of a new year of meetings and programs, so keep an eye on the newsletter for all the upcoming events. We had several ladies interested in our group at both the exhibit at the Encino Library and our table at the Bead Show and we hope they will all come to some of our gatherings soon!
Our Annual September Retreat is full as usual and many of us will be gone for most of that week. There may be very few at The Yarn Barn on the second Wednesday of September. Also, on the second Wednesday in October, The Yarn Barn will be involved in the annual Yarn Crawl, so we will be meeting at Northwood Church that day.
I had a note from Shawn Miller thanking us for hosting her at our May Luncheon and for so many of us taking her class. She would like to see our finished pieces, so if you have finished the stocking or finish it in the future, send her a picture or at least put one in the newsletter.
I will be the SANG Representative at the EGA Annual Meeting during the Seminar in Louisville. Can you believe EGA has been in existence for 60 years? The slate of officers (biographies are in your NeedleArts) and a bylaws change regarding the officers are the agenda. Talk to me if you have questions.
On a sad note, Marsha Surad passed away in late July. She was a member for many years and her love of stitching was noted in her obituary.
Also, our condolences go out to Diane and John Williams on the passing of John’s mother.
I will see you all, I hope, at all the meetings, stitch ins, and I hope, at the upcoming Seminar work days, at St. Marks on Vance Jackson, September 29 and October 13.
Happy Stitching!
