Short Threads from the Needle’s Eye…

We learn something new every day. I did not know San Antonio has an aquarium. I got an email groupon for our aquarium. It is at 6320 Bandera Road in Leon Valley. I went to their website and it is due to open in December 2014. (I know this does not have anything to do with needlework. I just thought it was interesting.)

Back to needlework, the Institute of Texan Cultures has a “Texas Art Quilts and Modern Masterpieces” exhibit from September 5 to January 11, 2015. The SANG trip is planned for Saturday, November 8, 2014. More in this newsletter.

Stitching the tin topper was fun at our last meetings. We will finish them at the October meeting.

Our retreat is filled up. Diane has done a wonderful job of organizing it. There will be a lot of good stitching time, food and fellowship.

I know we all do it, but I have 5 things I am stitching on at this time. The Hapsburg lace, Hapsburg scissor case, tin toppers, pillow for my daughter-in-law’s October birthday and switch plate for a wedding soon. What I stitch on depends on which tote bag I grab. Two have deadlines so they are in the same bag. Luckily we have several stitch ins soon.

I hope to see you at a stitch in or meeting soon.
