President’s Message Short Threads from the Needle’s Eye…

Our May luncheon was a success. Trisch Moy from Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio gave an interesting talk regarding the Habitat for Humanity program. She even brought a model home.

The food at the Ft. Sam Golf Club was good and we got to walk around and visit. We had so many compliments on the Ft. Sam Golf Course facility; we reserved the rooms for Saturday, May 9, 2020. Mark your calendars for this date. Our Christmas party will be at La Fonda on Saturday, December 14. More on this later.

We will have a busy summer with SCR Seminar in Rogers, Arkansas, Peg Dunayer’s classes, our Fourth Tuesday stitching at St. Mark’s Methodist Church, stitching our Habitat samplers and our four libraries stitch ins a month. We do not have morning meetings during June, July and August.

We are planning on stitching at Memorial Library on Saturday, June 15. It is the Saturday before Seminar. We will not be stitching at Encino Library on Monday, June 17, 2019 or Wednesday, June 19 at Northwood Presbyterian Church. Too many members will be on their way to Arkansas.

Tuesday, July 30 is World Embroidery Day. We will be celebrating this on Monday, July 29 at Encino Library, 2515 E. Evans Road, San Antonio, TX. The Library closes at 6 pm on Tuesdays, but is open until 8 pm on Mondays. Come stitch with us on Monday, July 29. Last year we had several ladies visit our exhibit. Bring some of your projects to display.

I am busy putting coupons in the jar for our Support SANG with the Point System. Everyone got a ticket for attending the May luncheon. We will get points for attending meetings; stitch ins; teaching a class. NO tickets for the Wednesday morning stitch ins. It is not fair to the members who are working.

I have not gotten any designs for our Create a New SANG Name Tag Contest. Anyone wanting to enter can submit a design to me by November 1 and we will announce the winner at the Christmas luncheon. It can be no larger than 4″ X 5″. It needs to be stitched. We can think about a beaded one later.

Hope to see you at a stitch in soon.
