President’s Message – Short Threads from the Needle’s Eye…

Happy New Year 2019. We have some new faces on the Board and some previous members changing jobs. Watch this newsletter for new programs from Mary Hodges, our Education VP, a Peg Dunayer class in March and April, 2019, Saturday workshops for our 2020 Seminar in San Marcos and our SANG retreat in September 2019 from Diane Williams.

Carol Powers is our Outreach VP. We can continue saving toiletries for Meals on Wheels and threads for Threads of Blessing. When the time comes, send your Membership to Kay Foster, our Membership VP and Carmel Friesenhahn will be our Treasurer and Joyce McCoig, our Secretary. Our SANG Guild is in good hands.

We will be teaching a plastic canvas heart on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at Forest Hills Library from 3-5. We have the materials from last year. We have had 3-5 students learn beginning cross stitch. We will be at Maverick Library that evening. Anyone interested in helping teach this class, please let me know. I will be asking for volunteers at the day and night meetings on January 22, 2019.

February 16 at Memorial Library will be our Stitch in Public Day. Circle this date on your calendar. The library opens at 10:00 am and we are usually there waiting. The light is good so bring whatever you would like to stitch.

All the best to my stitching friends in 2019.
