We will be making gift bags for Meals on Wheels toiletries at the day meeting and filling them at the night meeting. You were generous in getting toiletries. I made 5 bags and put a pink or red ribbon for women and a blue for men and a red and blue ribbon for couples. We have several packages of toothpaste with 2 tubes and I would like them to go to a couple.

The website for the bags is

The fat quarter does not half to be exact. If you would like to make a few at home, let me know and I will see if I can get you some material from our stash or use your own stash. On Tuesday November 27 at the day meeting, we will need sewers to bring sewing machines, thread, scissors, olfa mats, rotary cutters and rulers to the morning meeting. If you have any ribbon 1″ width or less and fabric you would like to donate, this would be appreciated. The night group can fill the bags brought and made in the morning meeting.

If you have any questions, please call me at 210-422-4770.

Also if you have any “orphan threads” you would like to donate to Threads of Blessings, bring them to the November meetings. We are going to make this an ongoing outreach project. We always have “orphan” threads.

President’s Message – Short Threads from the Needle’s Eye…

Almost the Holiday Season, if you say Halloween is the first one! The information on our Christmas Party is later in this issue. Do sign up early as space is limited!!

Thank you from the Chapter to all those who have been at the Seminar workdays or who have worked at home. We are well under way on some of our projects. No more workdays and Seminar meetings until January, so back to working on your own stitching! YIPEE!!

We will continue to hold stitch-ins at the Encino Branch of the SA Public Library on 3rd Mondays 6-8PM and at La Fonda on the 4th Monday of the month.

Elections will be at the November Chapter Meetings and we will also vote on the new budget. We must have a quorum, so please plan to be there. The program is the completion of the bags for Meals on Wheels and we have the goodies to pack in them-Thanks to Y’all!!

News from the EGA Annual Meeting:

The Slate of officers and the Bylaws change passed without objection and some of the officers were visibly on the job during the Seminar. Our new President, Janet Noble, has chosen Wounded Service Members Project as her outreach project. Three projects will soon be available for purchase at $30 for all three. I know that wounded warriors are dear to all of San Antonio’s hearts.

The President of the Northern Arizona Stitchers has challenged all the chapters to recruit at least one youth member over the next year. I think they have 8! Any suggestions??

Happy Stitching!
