I have my 12 stitchers for the Habitat for Humanity Sampler. Thank you all very much.
It calls for 3 strands of DMC. I used a 9 X 11 piece of white Aida and 3 strands of floss for all the stitching and lettering.
I need the pieces by the September 25 meeting, day or night, so we can frame them.
Thank you all again for your time stitching.

Short Threads from the Needle’s Eye… July 2018

A great time was had by all those who attended the “GuilDy Treasures” Seminar in Dallas last week! The 6 of us were in a variety of classes from needlepoint to beading to traditional embroidery and Studio time.
Our prize treasure chest was well received and was won by Jeanne Root of the Louisiana Lagniappe Chapter (picture below).
Many of us have already taken advantage of the Early Registration for next year’s Seminar,” Explore the Arts” June 19-22, 2019 in Rogers, Arkansas. Early registration is open until July 15. All the information is available on line or from those with internet. Do at least look!!
It was announced at the banquet that our own Diane Williams has won EGA’s Gold Thread Award for our Region!!! It will be presented, in her absence, at the Seminar in Louisville in October. Diane was chosen from the winners of SCR’s Heart and Hand awards for 2017 to be nominated for the award.
We will be celebrating World Embroidery Day, July 30 with a display and stitch in at the Encino Branch of the San Antonio Public Library on Evans Road near 281from 5-7:45 PM. Joan has more information later in this issue.
This is a 2-month issue so please save it!

Hope to see you all at the stitch-ins which continue all summer-including the one in place of the night group meetings! All are also welcome at the Seminar Work Day at All Brands Sewing Center on July 14!

Happy Stitching!
