So I have been impressed with all of the stitchers on YOUTUBE who have been participating in a Mirabilia Stitch A Long that started on January 1st that I wanted to do one as well. I chose Red. I just thought that she was beautiful. I have not started that piece yet I am waiting for the fabric I order for that piece to come in.

So this piece has a lot of different elements to it. It has fabric, DMC floss, Caron Waterlilies, and Mill Hill Beads and Treasures. This piece does not have Kreinik thread but some of the other Mirabilia designs do. So how do you stitch this?

Here are some of the questions floating around in my mind? How do you store your Mill Hill beads if you do not want to leave them in the clam shells they come in once you open them? So do I just stitch the DMC floss first and then wash it? Can you wash variegated silk?

If you can, then I do stitch all DMC floss and Waterlilies floss and then wash the piece? Can you wash Kreinik? Do I need to treat my beads with anything before I attach them so that they keep their finish? I have never washed a piece before, what detergent do I use to hand wash? I have lots of questions and I guess I will find out the answers to them as I go along. I will let you know what I discover.

As always happy stitching,

Jessica Jones
